David Benoit plays his etudes

Next Friday, May 30, David will be giving a rare performance: a selection of pieces from his Etudes for the Contemporary Pianist.  Excerpted below is a sample from “Journey in a Rental Car,” a piece written by David during one of his artist residencies at Villa Montalvo in Saratoga, CA. Here’s a bit of trivia about this etude — according to David, “The opening F repetition signifies the warning chime before the seat belt is fastened.” To purchase tickets to this performance at Zipper Hall in downtown Los Angeles, click here. Tickets start at $30 (group) / $35 (general) / $55 (preferred).

If you’re on Facebook, David would love to hear what you think about this piece. Pop on over to the David Benoit Music page and leave a comment!
